Global Voices Project
During the Fall 2013 semester, I took part in Penn State's Conversation Partners Program. The program matches native speakers of English with non-native speakers of English on campus and in the community for language support and cultural exchange. My partner was Adem Yasar, a 23 year old graduate student from Turkey studying law. We meet up once or twice a week to learn about each others cultures, explore our own cultures, and our personal favorite...try new foods! We both love fried, unhealthy foods!
The purpose of the Global Voices Project is to contribute to intercultural understanding of health and human development issues worldwide, and how efforts to address those issues can be sustained through quality leadership. Below you will find a video clip of an interview I did with Adem. We discussed some of his views on leadership; health, human development, and sustainability issues he views as most important in his country; and a topic of personal interest to him.
Update: Due to scheduling conflicts, I was unable to conduct an interview with Adem. I'm hoping to revisit this sometime during the Fall 2014 semester.
